Yours truly with a Steelhead from the Ashtabula River in Northeast Ohio.

Howdy, I’m Bart Logan. I’m a Columbus native and journalism major at Ohio University. I hold press credentials and blog about the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets for HockeyBuzz.com, the largest independent hockey site on the web.

I also write columns and features about the Blue Jackets on InsideHockey.com. Previously I worked for WVKO 1580 AM in Columbus as a newscaster, board op, producer and credentialed correspondent covering the Blue Jackets.

In Athens, I keep myself busy as a play-by-play announcer and occasional color analyst for the Ohio Bobcats Hockey team. I’m also a sports writer for The Post, OU’s independent, student-run newspaper, and I am the producer for AVW Productions’ news and entertainment show Straight Up.

This quarter I’m taking an online journalism class, so I’ll be updating this blog a little bit more frequently. I’ll be touching on a wide array of issues, but don’t worry. I’ll be focusing on my bread and butter — sports. Whether that will be something about hockey specifically or delving into some deeper issues such as controversies surrounding treatment of student athletes, we’ll just have to see.

I’m a former hockey player and I still love to lace up the skates and hit the ice when I get a chance. I also pass for a competent angler from time to time. The same cannot be said for my golf game.

  1. Too much fun!

  2. I will be turning this photo over to our law enforcement administrators in the ODNR Division of Wildlife. The use of Electrical currents to shock and surface fish is illegal, Bart.

  3. What are you going to write about this quarter for J314? Give me a little insight. ;) FYI, the blog looks nice, professional… and I love the steelhead.
